Today, I’m going to take you through my carry test experience with the Vaultskin Notting Hill zipper wallet, but before we get into my general assessments, likes and dislikes, let me do a quick feature review for you.

(if you want to see all the features and how many cards and cash it can hold, please watch the video)

This is the exact wallet I was carrying, with my contents in it. In the front, you have a quick access card slot, with card access being very easy. But you also have one right above it that’s in this little slot accessible by pulling up an elastic strap to gain access to the cards.

On the back, we have two slots, this is where I keep my ID. If we unzip the wallet, we can see we have space on the left hand side for more cards or cash. I prefer to just keep my cash lying here in the middle, and you have a strap where you can formally place the cash if you’d like. On the right hand side we have a very tight slot with the top near the zipper area, and it’s really for coins.

A full review of this wallet was previously done for greater detail. Now, when I reviewed this wallet, one of my initial concerns was that Vaultskin didn’t use YKK zippers, but a non-brand. I’ve come to learn that they now do use YKK zippers, which is great. Having proven zippers on a zipper product is really, really critical.

Beyond that, the leather performed as expected. There were no concerns. It is an Italian leather, and although it’s cut very thin, it did perform without concern. It does show some scratches and scuffs which happen with leather. People who complain about scratches and scuffs, have never used leather before.

Now for my likes, I know there are personal biases against zippers. I’ve seen it in the comments, and we’ve talked about it before, but if you find yourself hoarding things in a wallet, zipper wallets are the best. They make you kind of a bit lazy actually, because all you have to do is just dump things right in the middle here, like I do with my cash. I could put cards in here, anything because the zipper just captures it. I don’t have to worry about a wallet opening up and things falling out.

Another item is the quick access slots. Here in the front and in the back, even this pull strap is very convenient and it doesn’t really force me to get into my zip area very often. And the price of the wallet, what you get for what you pay is really good.

Now for my dislikes. The RFID, yes it’s awful because it’s on the quick access card areas and prevents me from using contactless payment. It just drives me crazy and it forces me to take my cards out. If you want an RFID card, get the Popov Leather Gauntlet card.

In the end I had more likes than dislikes, so if you prefer a slimmer, smaller footprint-type wallet, then you might think twice about this, but it’s very capable, and great for the price.
