Many might have seen the Flyfold 2.0 Wallet from Pioneer Carry. If you’re familiar with the Flyfold 1.0 version, you might wonder what the differences are. Both are designed and engineered in the United States, and made in Vietnam. The features are very similar, but the layout and finish is different. The 1.0 version has a capacity of 10 cards with a billfold pocket with a capacity of six to eight notes. Both have 4 card slots on the interior with no features on the exterior. Both wallets are RFID protected via material added.
The 2.0 version can hold up to 12 cards and the same number of notes, but unlike the 1.0, the 2.0 has a limitation on taller currencies like the Yen and Euro. If you put both wallets next to each other it looks like the height is minimal, but it makes all the difference when you’re inserting taller currencies. If you’ve been keeping track of the changes, The 10XD material is more pliable, it’s less rough and will break in faster. The 2.0 has an increased card of 12 versus 10 for the 1.0. There’s a decrease in currency size accommodations. You can’t handle taller currencies in the 2.0 version. The 2.0 version is completely re-engineered.
And all this while being thinner than the 1.0. Construction and materials make these two wallets very distinct with the 2.0 version taking on a more traditional bifold construction. If you’re leaning toward a slimmer, thinner design, then the 2.0 version is probably for you. I believe both are great wallets. But if you like the 1.0 version, you’re out of luck because only the 2.0 is sold now.
A cult-favorite billfold stripped down to the very essentials for simplicity and increased strength. Our slimmest billfold by far. The Flyfold is the one style that truly embodies our ethos of pioneering beyond convention and optimizing for active lifestyles.
