Let’s open up the Allett Mule bifold wallet. It didn’t come with any special packaging and as you can see the color is brown and it has a great feel to it. You can see how it flexes on the seam pivot points. We’ll talk about this more as we go, it’s a deliberate design feature.
Regarding quality it’s constructed with an ultra thin, nylon material which is tear resistant, durable, and resists moisture. This company that has been making these products since 1995 here in the United States. They provide a 30 day free returns policy as well as money back guarantee and a one- year limited warranty. They only offer options in RFID and you can see how you lose material to RFID protection.
As you saw it can hold up to 5 cards in EACH of the interior card slots. The two separate holding areas for the cash, receipts or anything else is generous. It’s a great feature to provide a way to separate what you put in there. It easily accepts 10 slips of cash in each of these pockets. It can hold 20 cards throughout the slots. The bottom line is that it has incredible capacity. The usability was a purposeful in the design of the wallet. This includes the strategic placement of the card slots to provide flex whether the wallet is placed in your front or back pocket. This make sit comfortable to carry. They don’t use any overlapping seams to prevent bulk.

The design ethos is to allow inclusion of significant items without creating bulk and thus maintaining minimalism. But the downside is this wallet is larger than most wallets we would call minimalist. It measures 4” by 5 ⅛” and an ¼” inches thick. To put this in your front pocket, while it may flex, may be uncomfortable due to its size. But if capacity using an excellent design to reduce size is what you’re looking for, the Mule is excellent.
Our perception of the wallet is good. It’s a very nice, handmade, vegan, eco friendly, lightweight wallet with quality incorporated into every step of their production workflow. It’s a small company that loves what they do and they ship all over the world. Mule is a sister company of Allett, who sells nylon and leather wallets. Their URL is in the notes below if you’re interested. Allett places focus on maintaining minimalism with capacity.
Let’s jump into the rating. For quality, it gets a 4, for pricing a 3, for features a 4, for usability, a 3 and finally perception is a 4. That gives us a final score of 3.4 out of 5.
Our wallets are super compact and durable because we handpick the highest quality materials.
