In this review, we are going to present the Bellroy Zip Wallet. This wallet is in racing green, a very attractive color besides four other available colors. This is a substantial zipper wallet with function, access, and storage. It has some pretty neat features which we will be looking at in detail.
In regards to the features, the zipper provides security for the content. The interior has four interior card slots with a capacity of three to eight cards divided among the slots. The adjacent side has a magnetic coin pouch closing on the top with a corner slant through which coins can be slipped. If you go further into the interior of the wallet, you can spot a hidden card slot that can be used for archive cards, loyalty cards, and similar content that may not be used frequently. There is a generous billfold pocket to accommodate all of the cash that you would want to carry. The right-hand side holds a SIM card holder as well as an ejection tool, very practical in case you use multiple SIM cards for your cell phone.
The Bellroy Zip, being one of the largest Bellroy zipper wallet offerings, can carry all your cash, cards, coins, and more without becoming a clutch. It measures 3.9 x 4.7 x 0.7” and weighs 91 grams, equivalent to 3.2 ounces.
From the insertion test, reasonable carry of cards is six, in addition to a whole stack of cash containing 12 notes. The company recommends eight-plus cards. You could also carry more, which can be put in the billfold pocket. It fits nicely in the pocket, and because it is larger, you can feel it. It would work fine either in a bag or a backpack, and of course, your front or rear pocket.
It is designed in Australia and made in India or the Philippines of premium environmentally certified leather. Bellroy always tries to put different aesthetics into their product. This can be seen through the features of this particular wallet. It comes in RFID, which we disfavor, and I cannot tell who the zipper manufacturer is either. But overall, Bellroy zippers have proven to hold up pretty well. The wallet is priced at $109.
Bellroy is always putting in different features to see how people use them. They lean on products where zippers would accommodate more coins and cash than other types of carry. And so, they leverage the things that are quite useful in their particular designs. Even though some of their designs disappear because they do not perform that well, they keep innovating and continue to make amazing wallets.
The final score of the Bellroy Zip Wallet is 4 for the quality, 3 for the price, 5 for the features because it is amazing for such a small footprint, usability scores a 4 because it is easy to operate and does not require any awkward manipulation, in addition to all the different organization capabilities that it offers, finally, perception scores 4. This gives a final score of 39 out of 50.
