Dango’s C01 Civilian is a slim carry, does it live up to the Dango brand?

Dango’s C01 “Civilian” slim wallet is a welcomed offering from their larger and bulkier tactical wallets. More in tune with the “S” line, the Civilian provides ample card and cash carry (folded only once!), in a leather design that’s both interesting and functional. This is a great minimalist offering from Dango.

(if you want to see all the features and how many cards and cash it can hold, please watch the video)

I easily put 8 cards in the various slots, the company recommends 10.  But if you use their available multi-tool, you’ll lose a slot and capacity along with it. It can handle 5 slips of cash folded over once and that’s awesome as it leaves it looking great.

While the silicon strap looks good, following the design pattern of all of Dango’s offerings, and provides the ability to store cards it does get in the way.

To easily access cards in the various slots you may or may not want to use it. It’s made of Italian leather handmade in the United States which is nice, but it is cut very thin for the multi layer look they’re going for and to prevent it from becoming too bulky.

It looks like it is genuine leather which is used in most of their other products. This wallet is from Dango’s “C” line, which stands for “civilian” and is one of their slimmest wallet offering from them. This tab is made of 6061 aerospace grade CNC’ed aluminum, and it’s for use with lanyards or tethers. It does come with a lanyard that does unravel quite nicely but if you want to use it as a tether. Dango also sells tethers which you can use to attach the wallet to your pants to keep it from pickpockets or falling out inadvertently.

These screws are mil spec stainless steel.  The stitching is done nicely and it’s double stitched at the end runs to provide strength.

The pricing is $49, it’s designed and manufactured in the United States. And that’s a very fair price. Actually it’s excellent to be honest, the usability with this layered leather design is clever and provides a nice visual texture as well as a functional application. As mentioned it does work with Dango MT 02 multi tool. Although you will lose a slot if you put one in like we mentioned previously,

It measures 3.39” x 2.13” x .5” thin. I really liked this as a slim wallet because it has an interesting design is very functional, but still has the industrial look and feel of the Dango product lines. The customer service and support that you get from Dango is excellent. With few exceptions, most people enjoy this model. It is different so you need to give this a chance before you decide whether or not you like it.

Now let’s get into the final score for quality a 4, for price a 4, features a 4, usability a 3 and perception a 4. That gives us a final score of 3.8 out of 5.
