We’ve had a lot of requests for this particular wallet, the Ezra Arthur Cash Fold Deluxe Wallet. Ezra Arthur comes with a wonderful gold-embossed raised letter box. Tissue paper, another layer, layers are important and it demonstrates effort.
This is the whiskey color and it seems a lot lighter in color than on their website, but no matter it still looks beautiful. It is a tri-fold and a cash fold, they say it’s a cash wrap, but it can also hold cards.
The sewing looks like a whip stitch, great texture and it looks really good. The Ezra Arthur stamp is on the back and the bottom. It feels like just the right weight of leather and is finished nicely.
From a feature perspective, it’s a cash wrap and a tri-fold, and provides for cash to lay in unfolded and at the bottom is the contact point where cash is secured. It slides in here, and it is also the place where you put cards. Cards are placed in the bottom, with good capacity.
They say this can hold a good number of cards and was able to put 19 slips of cash in without a problem and 7 cards. The company indicates it can hold up to 15 cards and there’s no indication of the maximum for notes, but we were able to load it up. Now, of course, with that many notes it does get thick and isn’t recommended to put that many in, but it’s good to know it can handle it.
The wallet is designed and made in the United States and is made from one piece of Horween Chromexcel leather, and if you’re not familiar with the Chromexcel line from Horween, it is a veg tan leather, but it does incorporate some Chrome tanning concepts in the beginning of the process, but it still ends up with a wonderful feel to the touch and a great smell. This wallet sits between Ezra Arthur’s Cash Fold and their #2 wallet. I really like the sewing as it’s a wrap loop, but that is also a potential problem. If the thread breaks, it could unravel.
It is made in the United States. As the leather breaks in, it will handle any reasonable amount of cash and it does handle all sizes of currencies.
It measures 4 x 2.75 x 0.18”, and weighs 25 grams. They do have a lifetime warranty on the stitching, which is perfect, as that would be the only part of this wallet that really could fail because otherwise it’s one piece of leather.
Now onto the final score. For quality of 5, price of 2, features a 3, usability a 4, and perception a 4. That gives us a final score of 3.8 out of 5.
