Today’s review is with the Easy Money Wallet from Firebox. It comes packaged in a simple plastic bag. It’s a lovely brown color and also comes in black. This wallet is very simple.
With the Firebox Easy Money wallet, there are no exterior features and one feature on the interior, with a few other minor features that surround it as well. There is a single pocket on the exterior which provides the capacity for cards, cash and receipts. The cash wraps into the wallet itself. A common complaint about slim wallets is that the cash is often placed on the outside of the wallet, where it can be viewed. This particular wallet is a cash wrap style, which provides privacy for cash.
I was able to get ten cards, eight slips of cash and five business cards inside. It truly swallows up whatever you put in it, and while it does create the bulk it still looks and feels manageable. A reasonable minimalist card carry would probably be seven. The company indicates it can hold up to twelve. It does not fit Yen or Euro as those notes are too wide.
It is made in China with a single piece of top grain leather and is stitched in the front all the way through with a single piece of nylon thread. The single piece of leather provides a rugged type look which is very attractive and will develop a nice patina over time. Because of the rounded corners it will not have a propensity to wear holes in your pocket.
It measures 3.4 x 3.2 x 0.4”, and weighs 35 grams. Great thought went into this design which also includes an elegance in its usability.
For the final score we have quality at a 4. Price, a 3. Features, a 3. Usability, a 3 and perception, a 3. That gives us a final score of 3.3 out of 5.
