(if you want to see all the features and how many cards and cash it can hold, please watch the video)
Today we are going to review the Form Function Form (FFF) Sidestep wallet. It is a slim wallet which is handmade in the United States. The wallet comes in a wonderful little cotton bag with a card that talks about the heritage of the leather they use, which is great. It is made from Horween leather. When you first look at this wallet, you might think, “this is kind of flimsy.” But when you put cards inside it starts to fill out nicely. It is very pliable and feels great. The stitching on this is really nice and provides everything that is needed in the right place.
The following are the features of the new FFF Sidestep wallet. This is the Mustang Brown color. There are two card slots. One on the front and another one right behind it. They are both deep. When we open it up, it has a half-and-half where you put cash. When we flip it over to the back, there is an ID slot option, or can be used for other cards. Essentially you have one slot on the back which provides the ability to use a quick-access thumb push to be able to pull the cards out.
Now for the card and cash insertion test. This has a clipless money clip which is kind of cool. It works out well. I was able to get seven cards and five slips of cash in there. U.S. and Canadian currency will work just fine. Euro and yen, not so much because it sticks out the top. It has three card slots as was mentioned, plus this clipless money clip in the middle.
It is designed and made in Orlando Florida. They have uniquely designed and expertly crafted products. It is laser cut from a single piece of Horween horse front mustang leather, for an ultra-low profile that fits in your pocket. It is folded and hand-stitched and has burnished edges on it. It is a neat design that gives you contiguous capabilities in this wallet that really make it slick. And again, once you get cards and cash in there, it gives you rigidity that looks really nice.
It is very soft and supple. There is really nothing like it. It’s very floppy but that’s perfect. The structure is provided by the insertion of cards. It measures 4 x 3 x 0.2”. Their customer service is well done, and they are very straightforward in how they operate. They truly enjoy the chance to fix any issues with products that come their way.
Here is the final score. For quality, a 5; price, a 3; features, a 3; usability, a 3 and perception, a 4. That gives us a final score of 3.8 out of 5.
Made of soft Horween leather, the Sidestep, made from a single, laser cut piece of leather provides ample room for cards and a clipless money clip.
