The Form Function Form, or “triple F” as I like to call it, brings us the Trislot wallet. It comes in a nice cotton bag which also includes some good information printed on it regarding the leather, and the abuse they expect you’ll give the wallet. The wallet may look odd, but from a functionalist perspective it is pretty slick and works really well. Here on the front we see the Form Function Form stamp on the leather.
It’s called a Trislot for three reasons The first, second and third slot, okay that was cheeky. The first one is on the front exterior. The next slot is in the interior, and the final one is on the opposite side. The magic happens with the middle slot.
Minimal carry on this is two cards, and reasonably about four. The company recommends up to six cards which makes sense based on the configuration.
Designed and made in Orlando Florida in the United States, it is made from a single piece of laser-cut Horween horse front Mustang leather. This type of leather is very thin, strong, low stretch and very durable. It also smells fantastic. And I really like the visual combination of the flesh side of the leather alternating with the finish side.
The price on this is $48. Normally, with three stacked card slots you would expect to dig out the cards from the exterior slots to get to the middle slot, but that’s the magic. When you place a card in the middle slot, it has a riser on it which you can see protruding from the bottom of the cut. This sets the cards up slightly higher than the cards on the exterior slots, meaning you can easily retrieve those cards without disturbing the exterior cards, brilliant. This is a very clever design that makes this wallet even more usable.
It measures 3.8 x 2.5 x 0.3”, and weighs 21 grams. This is a great company out of Orlando, Florida who provides uniquely designed and expertly crafted products. Their customer service is done well and is very straightforward.
Here is the final score. For quality, a 5. Price, a 3. Features, a 3. Usability, a 4 and perception, a 4. That gives us a final score of 40 out of 50. This is one of those wallets that is part of our five unique wallet reviews.
Three stacked credit card slots, stitched with the center slot riding higher than the outer two to allow easier access to the ‘middle cards,’ without having to unpack the whole bunch.
