Turkey, an incredible country with an amazing history and buildings like the stunning Süleymaniye Mosque. And like everywhere else in the world, they also have leather makers. In this review, we will see a very interesting design from Leathings, a non-stitch wallet in an origami style, which brings a new sense of carry interest to your pocket.
It is custom handmade and has got a nice presentation. Leathings craft, as mentioned, comes with a cotton bag and a neat little deer that appears to be made out of leather, very clever. It looks like it is made out of 100% handmade, natural calf leather, vegetable-tanned. This wallet is a tobacco color, which is their default offering. I am sure you could make a request for different colors. Murat, the owner, would be happy to accommodate you. As it was mentioned, this is origami, thus there is no sewing, it only has some rivets and a few openings. The origami fits hold it together in an interesting way. This should be a fun wallet to explore.
In regards to the features of the Leathings no stitch origami this particular wallet has no appreciable features on the exterior. It does have a snap which is what holds everything together and acts as the security mechanism. The wallet has a quick access card slot and it lets the cards stick out. The main pocket is found in the interior, it provides storage capacity for cash and additional cards.
The card and cash insertion test.was performed with six cards and 11 notes. Minimalists carrying this would be four cards, while reasonable is six. The thickness of this wallet with the inserted content is about 0.7 inches and it can be a little thick due to all the leather that is folded around. The company makes no recommendation on the number of cards, which is fine, as you will realize that the main slot is very generous, it can accommodate a great combination of all kinds of cards and cash that is folded once.
From a quality perspective, it is designed and made in Turkey from a full-grain vegetable-tanned leather, calfskin leather to be precise and it smells pleasant. It is made from two pieces of leather and has a couple of rivets, in the back and the snap locking system mentioned in the beginning. The snap secures it and makes sure nothing falls apart. It is priced at $27. This is an interesting type of wallet, almost looks like a square, so it is kind of wide which means that it fits all the currencies folded just once and all the cards that you could carry. I bet you could get probably eight to 10 cards in there just fine. A quick-access slot in the back would have turned this wallet into a great one, but it still has a kind of quick access slot, therefore it satisfies that purpose. It is easy enough to use, and I believe it will be a great front or rear pocket carry. It is a pretty cool conversation piece in addition to being really functional. It measures 4.1 x 3.3 x .5 and weighs 63 grams. Murat is the owner and the operator, he is based in Turkey. He has built a very nice business on Etsy and produces some really nice other products. I encourage you to take a look.
The final score of the Leathings no stitch origami wallet is 4 for the quality, 5 for the price, 3 for the features, usability, and perception. A very attractive wallet and everything functions as expected. That gives a score of 37 out of 50.
