The Lejiled folded, no sew, origami leather wallet is very sophisticated, slim type wallet I’ve encountered so far. It even incorporates a pull strap and snap into the single piece of Italian leather design.

We’ve received many requests to review the Lejiled wallet, an origami-style wallet made in France. It comes packed amid tissue paper, and this is the Le N°01 or the degree zero one wallet. It is a cardholder with a slim offering. This is another wallet made from Italian leather from the Vegetable-Tanned Leather Consortium in Tuscany, and the stamp on it indicates the origin of its leather. The wallet has a great cut of leather which gives a very pleasant feel and it smells fantastic.
This origami wallet has no sewing, it is kept together all through folds and one snap. In addition, it comes in either a left or a right-hand version, very specific and quite a nice feature depending on how you prefer to access the different slots. If we look at this wallet, there is one feature that is on the inside, a card slot that can be accessed by using your thumb to extract the card. It has another card slot that works as a quick-access-thumb slot to push the cards out with a capacity of one to two cards. If we unsnap it, we have access to the interior, and has a pull strap that is incorporated into this wallet. Remember, this wallet is made from one piece of leather..
The Lejiled wallet measures 3.7 x 2.9 x 0.4” and weighs 38 grams, equivalent to 1.3 ounces. This wallet carries a minimum of four cards and a reasonable carry is six. The company makes no recommendation, but the maximum it can carry from my testing is up to eight cards, and once you insert a few notes it will be a trade-off between the cards and cash.
From a quality perspective, it is designed and made in France from a full grain vegetable-tanned Italian leather from the Vegetable-Tanned Leather in Tuscany Consortium, as already mentioned. It has the perfect weight that facilitates folding, while still keeping it robust. The single snap holds it together because even while unsnap, it still operates without hesitation.
From a usability perspective, there is no sewing as mentioned, everything is folded. Lejiled got its start on Kickstarter in 2019 and has been adding additional origami-style wallet designs to their offering ever since. We have previously seen other origami-type wallets, but this one is the most functional I have seen yet. The folds are subtle, but they are very crisp, and you would think that the functionality would be reduced, but is not the case. The functionality only continues to get better and makes you believe that it is actually sewn. It inserts in the pocket just fine without any concern, whether the front or the rear pocket.
Please check the YouTube video for more details of how it is taken apart.
The final score of the Lejiled wallet is 5 for quality, 3 for price, and features, 4 for usability, and another 4 for perception. That gives a great score of 4 out of 5.
The compact size eliminates bulk, while thoughtful features like the pull tab, outside card pockets, and snap closure provide maximum functionality.
