Today’s review is on the Loyal Stricklin Johnny wallet. I received quite a few requests for this to be reviewed.
It comes in a canvas bag, the wallet is in their tobacco color. The name of the product is Johnny. I am not sure if there is some personal influence to the owners as to why they named it this way. This is made from one piece of unsewn leather, so no sewing is involved. It is one piece folded. The Loyal Stricklin mark is on the inside. It is great leather and a good weight for what you get from this product. The flesh side is nice and not completely finished.
The Loyal Stricklin Johnny wallet is simple in design and function. There are no features on the exterior. On the interior, there is a card slot and pocket for cards or cash. I am sure you could put receipts or anything else that would fit. Once everything is in the wallet, it closes nicely by tucking the upper flap under one of the folds on the front which protects your cards. It also provides easy access for cash from the side without needing to open the flap.
I was able to put eight cards and five slips of US currency folded once. The Yen and Euro stick out a little bit, but I think it works. The company recommends it can handle up to twelve cards. I tried putting twelve unembossed cards inside. Even with twelve cards inserted, there was still enough room to fit cash inside and close the wallet.
This wallet is designed and made in the United States. It is made from a 3 ½ ounce Wickett and Craig harness leather, which is great. It is too bad the flap wasn’t just a little bit longer. If it was, you could use this as a perfect cash wrap.
With no sewing, it’s very easy to use and the wallet will conform to your body and would be perfect for a front pocket carry.
It measures 3.5 x 4 x 0.2” and weighs 29 grams.
This is a very popular wallet and is easy to see why. What I like about Loyal Stricklin, is they make this design out of various types of leather, including all kinds of Cordovan varieties, as well as Horween. They utilize many different tanneries which demonstrates the adaptability of this design which provides great variety to customers and it has a lifetime limited warranty.
The owners, husband and wife team Michael and Sarah Stricklin, are dedicated to giving back to our fellow man, woman and child by donating 20% of their profits to a worthy cause around the world. They believe in programs that fight to combat sex trafficking, modern day slavery, oppression, and improve the quality of people’s lives. They have also been donating to the International Justice Mission, which goes into the den of evil and pulls people literally out of slavery. Unfortunately, human trafficking and their oppressors still happens all around the world.
As for the final score, for quality a 5, price a 3, features a 3, usability a 4, and perception a 4. That gives us a final score of 4 out of 5.
