Today’s review is on the DAKA Everyday Magpul wallet. Magpul is a firearms accessory company, but they also sell apparel and gear. This is a simple and slim wallet which comes packaged in a plastic wrap. There is also a card insert which includes their recommendations of card/cash capacity. It is made from reinforced polymer fabric which has several layers to it. It feels like fabric and has a bit of a stretch to it.
There is one slot ID window on the front of the Magpul wallet. There is a top down slot on the interior and two card slots on the opposite side of the wallet. The two card slot area is slightly recessed which allows the cards to set more in line with the wallet itself. Because the ID window is opaque, it might as well be used as another card slot. You can’t see through it, thus you would have to remove your ID from the slot anyway in order for it to be seen.
I was able to get four cards and two slips of cash, which were folded over once. The company recommends three to seven cards, but you could easily get another card and up to 3 slips of cash just fine.
The wallet is offered in four different colors. It is designed and made in the United States. It has a good texture to it. They call it the anti-slip. It isn’t too rough, and you won’t lose your grip on it. There are several layers to this wallet which become obvious as you look from the top down. These layers are welded together. The welding creates a permanent seal between all of the layers. However, there have been some reports that the layers start peeling apart from the material.
It measures 4.2 x 2.84 x .2” and weighs 23 grams.
Magpul makes great products which are well engineered. This is a nice wallet to minimize the bulge in your pocket and is definitely a front pocket wallet.
