Today we are going to be reviewing the Nodus compact coin zipper wallet. As we start reviewing more zipper wallets you will start to see the differences between zipper wallets and their quality. This is handcrafted with a nice little message for us. This wallet is Chestnut Brown. It feels really nice which is telling you that the outside pockets do not have RFID on them.
We’ve reviewed other zipper wallets including Bellroy Card Pocket Zipper, Anson Calder Cash Zipper, Undivide’s Zipper wallet and the Vaultskin Notting Hill.
Now to the feature review of the Nodus compact coin zipper wallet. On the front there is a card slot. This card slot is non RFID. If we flip it over, we see that it has another card slot. Same situation. This can be used for tap cards, bus passes, whatever. When we open it up, we can see that, on the immediate left hand side, we have a slot for cash. You fold your cash over once and insert it. There is also a little slit that is for a key. You can actually put a key in there. And some people need one key and that’s not bad. I think it’s a great little option. In the main compartment you can put more cards. On the right hand side, it has an elastic attachment in the front which provides a pocket that is meant to be for coins. I’m sure you could put some other cards in here if you want. Because the whole thing zips up nicely, it provides a mechanism for keeping everything secure.
Now for the card, coin and cash insertion test. The company indicates you can get 2 to 17 cards, plus coins, folded notes, and one key into this. I placed 8 cards, 5 slips of cash, 1 key, and 4 coins.
This is designed in the United Kingdom. It is made from a full grained veg tanned Italian leather. And the lining on this, even though it’s RFID, is probably the best lining I’ve felt in a long time. Now the zipper, of course, is something we always talk about in the durability of a zipper.
With this zipper it should move smoothly which is does. I think I’ve felt smoother zippers, but this functions just fine. I haven’t had it snag, or give me any kind of grief like that. So I’d say the zipper is high enough quality.
The measurements on this one is 4 x 2.7 x 0.5”. It has a two year warranty on it and free worldwide shipping. Now for the final score; For quality, a 4, price, a 4, features, a 4, usability, a 4 and perception, a 4. That gives us a final score of 4 out of 5.
