The Talon, from Softie Leather Goods, is made from Wickett & Craig Leather, another great tannery in the United States. The color we have is russet, but it also comes in black and tan.
From a feature review, there are two exterior card slots that are opposite of each other on the wallet. Both are the quick access card slots. Moving to the interior, there is one card slot in the middle. Capacity of 10 cards total. If cash is desired, it needs to be folded Cash twice or in thirds. it measures 3.9 by 2.6 by 0.6” and it weighs 44 grams of all kinds of leather goodness.

The company suggests it can hold more when broken. The card and cash insertion test successfully placed seven cards and two notes with the quick access card slots proving to be useful when needing cards fast.
The wallet is designed and made in the United States from full grain vegetable tanned Wickett & Craig Leather, which is stamped on one side. It is 100% hand sewn with Vinymo MBT thread. The burnishing is very light, but still has a nice bit of a feel to it, and the visual appeal of the layers of leather look nice.
The offset quick access card slots, how they’re opposite each other in this particular wallet, and really makes it super functional. The notches provide nice finger and thumb access as well, providing the ability to get your finger and thumb in there to pull cards out.
One of the first things that jumped out when looking at the wallet for the first time is the thickness of it before putting anything into it. And that’s because there are two pieces of leather wrap around both sides. The leather pieces all start from opposite sides on the exterior and wrap inward, resulting in six layers. That’s said, the leather is very soft. Even with cards in the wallet, it bends easily and will develop a nice patina and flatten out over time due to usage.
Now onto the final score. For quality, 5. Great leather, great construction. Price, a 3. Features, a 3, it gives you what you need in a card wallet, with minimal cash. Usability, a 3, the thickness might turn you off a bit from a carry perspective. And perception, a 4. That gives us a final score of 3.8 out of 5.
