Today we are going to be opening and reviewing the Stock & Barrel, Number 54. This is their slim wallet. We’ve reviewed Stock & Barrel products before. Some come in boxes, some don’t. This one comes in a wonderful box that has a Western look to it. When we open the box, we have this lovely chestnut color slim wallet.

Now to the feature review of the Stock & Barrel, Number 54. Stock & Barrel’s Number 54 is a slim wallet. It has a card slot in the front. On the top down, it’s got another hidden slot. This is where you could put a few pieces of cash that you fold over. On the back it has an ID slot with a side entry. This has a very good usability design. One thing to notice is there is no mesh or plastic. Therefore there is nothing that can wear out and break.

Now to the card and cash insertion tests. I was able to get 4 cards plus an ID and 2 slips of cash folded over twice. It still felt really good and this hasn’t even been broken in yet. I think the perfect number would be 4 cards plus an ID, and a little bit of cash.

This is made in the United States in northern Utah. It has nicely burnished edges and is painted as well. The leather is from Wickett & Craig, full grain veg tan out of Pennsylvania. The stitching is very nice. It could use a little double stitching on the edges where the inside panel meets this outside panel, but otherwise I love this wallet. The price on this is $38. Made in the United States, from a USA tan leather is a good price. It is very soft, flexible, and easy to use. The patina on this will develop beautifully into something really special as it gets used. The measurements on it are 4.25 x 2.5 x 0.25”.

The perception on this is that they also sell digital templates for instructions on how to actually make these wallets yourself. They are leather craftsmen and they like to share their craft. I like how the company presents itself and its products and there’s really little doubt that you’ll be taken care of as a customer with the quality of their products. They fully stand behind you if you have any kind of an issue. They have a lifetime warranty. So you’re definitely in good hands.

Now let’s get to the final score. For quality a 5. Price a 3. Features a 3. Usability a 3 and perception a 4. That gives us a final score of 3.8 out of 5.
