Is Undivided’s zipper wallet too compact to be usable?

Undivided has a very simple, small and easy to use zipper wallet that is not your typical zipper wallet. But is something so small easy to use? The answer is a quick yes and that simplicity is what makes this not your usually bulky zipper wallet.

Today we are going to review the One World Undivided Wallet.  The name of the company is Undivided. It comes in a nice little cotton bag and box. This one is brown and has an interesting design. There is an integrated zipper that feels good and is quite smaller than even the Bellroy Card Pocket Zipper wallet.

For the feature review of the Undivided Zipper Wallet, we have nothing by way of features on the one side. However, when we flip it over to the other side, there is an external quick card access slot which is really nice. I miss a lot of these from other wallets.  As we open up the zipper we can see there are no additional card slots. Everything goes into one big open pocket. This isn’t a bad thing because of its size. It is quite small for a zipper wallet and I think that’s okay.

Now for the card and cash insertion test. From a minimalist perspective, I think three cards would be perfect. Reasonably, I think you could carry up to five or six cards. I had two in the exterior slot. The cash will need to be folded twice if you want to put anything on the outside, especially if you’re using foreign currency. Other than the restriction of needing to fold foreign currency over twice, whether it’s on the outside or inside, it’s actually a great little wallet for a quick carry, and the size is amazing.

From a quality perspective, it is made of genuine leather. This is the lowest quality you can get, which is unfortunate, but it does help with its price. It also has RFID, but it’s really part of the lining and you can’t really feel it, but it definitely takes away from the quality. I’m not quite sure of the zipper quality.  I couldn’t find any indication if this is a YKK, so I’m not really sure of the longevity of this and how it can handle. We would have to wait and see over time.

From a usability perspective, it is super simple to use with easy accessibility and one big pocket on the inside. It has a small footprint. The security of having a zipper to hold all of your items is very worthwhile.

The size of this wallet is 4 x 3 x 2” and weighs 28 grams. This is offered in four colors, and was a Kickstarter like most wallets that seem to hit the market these days. It’s actually a fun little wallet, I wish they would do more with this.

So for the final score. For quality, a 3, price a 4, features a 3, usability a 4 and perception a 3, that gives us a final score of 3.5 out of 5. Zipper wallets are not so bad unless they are really big.
