You might think they are rivets, but they’re sex bolts that hold this wallet together. The Murdy Creative Bifold wallet is a simple, yet security conscious wallet.

Today, we have the Murdy Creative model leather bi-fold, a wallet that comes with what appear to be interesting rivets, but upon closer view, they’re not, these are actuall called “sex bolts”. They’re also known as post screws. Either way, it’s a unique way to secure wallet construction.
On the exterior, the wallet has no features. It would be great if it was equipped with a quick access card slot, but unfortunately, it does not. The interior has two interior slots inserting cards or cash from the fold, which provides security. It can accommodate up to 24 cards plus cash that must be folded at least in thirds or quarters. It is a fairly simple yet elegant wallet. The wallet comes in five colors. Murdy Creative has a complete line of leather products, which uses unique connection designs and mechanisms that are all industrial in nature, which makes their products, including this wallet, quite fascinating. It measures 4.4 x 2.8 x 0.7” and weighs 66 grams. Minimalist carry on this would be eight cards and reasonable is 12. The company recommends up to 24, yes, 24 cards.
From a quality perspective, this is designed and made in the United States from a full-grain vegetable-tanned leather and uses sex bolts or post screws. Yes, those are not rivets, but I think they are close enough. They have the screw side and the receiver side and it tightens up. It is hard to see any reason why you could not make that usable for yourself. The design on this wallet seems to be a great use of these post screws. It is priced at $49. Security is a big deal with this wallet as both the top and the bottom are going to prevent cards from falling out. Since they are inserted in the fold, once closed, nothing is going to get out. Huge attention was attributed to security, which is why I really like this design. Because it is not very tall, it fits nicely in the palm of your hand, which means it fits in your front and rear pocket. Started in 2018 by Colin and Leah Murdy, the attention to detail and elegant simplicity of this wallet is very appealing.
The final score of the Murdy Creative bi-fold wallet is 5 for quality, 2 for price because it is somewhat high for the construction effort, feature scores a 3 since it still does what it is supposed to, usability scores 4, it has an attractive overlap design to security and makes usability very good, and finally 4 for perception thanks to the unique approach of product creation by Colin and Leah Murdy that really stand out. This gives a final score of 38 out of 50, which is a great score for this nice wallet that is part of our top look at rivet wallets.
